Up to 80% of postpartum women suffer Baby Blues. In severe cases, postpartum depression can cause the development of hallucinations; delusions occur in about 0.1 – 0.2% of all women after having given birth. Baby Blues illustrates a perfectly normal and happy woman who is destroyed by the loss of her husband and suffers extreme postpartum depression.
